Creamed Chipped Beef

- 4 Tbsps butter shopping list
- 1 (4.5 oz) jar ARMOUR® STAR SLICED DRIED BEEF, rinsed, chopped shopping list
- 1 tsp Gulden’s® Spicy Brown Mustard shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 3 Tbsps cornstarch shopping list
- Fresh ground pepper, to taste shopping list
- 12 slices white bread, toasted shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Melt butter in saucepan. Add chopped beef and mustard, and allow to caramelize just a bit.
- 2. Add milk and bring to a simmer. Make a slurry of the cornstarch and water, and slowly stir into the mixture in the saucepan. Bring back to a simmer and cook until thickened.
- 3. Adjust seasoning; if salting, using with a light hand.
- 4. Serve over toast or biscuits, and scrambled eggs.
- NOTE: The Armour site suggests serving with a side of ARMOUR® STAR CORNED BEEF HASH.

I generally use one can Cream of Celery soup, one can Cream of Chicken soup and a can of Milk for the sauce base instead of just milk and water--But the spicy mustard sounds like a great addition-I'll try it next time. And of course it must be serve...more
