Green Beans In Garlic Sauce

- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed shopping list
- 4 oz. fresh Shitake mushrooms shopping list
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1/4 cup EVOO shopping list
- 1 T butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped shopping list
- pinch of fresh basil and oregano, minced shopping list
- pinch of red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs shopping list
- 8 cloves garlic, peeled shopping list
How to make it
- In a suace pan, bring 5 cups water to a boil with one T salt
- Add green beans and boil for 4-5 minutes until tender but not overcooked
- When tender, shock beans in a bowl of ice water to prevent overcooking and to keep the nice bright green color
- Remove after 30 seconds and drain
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil with cloves of garlic and mushrooms
- Saute until garlic becomes tan, but not brown
- Mash garlic into oil with tines of a fork
- Add beans, parsley,spices and butter
- Toss with the cheese and bread crumbs and serve as soon as the butter has melted
- NOTE:
- Garlic cloves may be removed before serving, or left in for added flavor
