How to make it

  • 1. Combine sweetened condensed milk and baking chips in a saucepan over boiling water (double boiler). Stir occasionally until chips are melted.
  • 2. Take off of heat and add in flavoring, salt, dried cherries and chopped nuts.
  • 3. Spoon into a buttered or foil lined 9x9-inch pan. Cool until firm.
  • 4. Lift the foil sling out of the pan and onto a cutting board. Cut fudge into 1" squares; store covered at room temperature.

    We vacationed in the upper peninsula of Michigan a few years ago and spent several days in Traverse City. LOVED all of the fresh and dried cherries! This fudge looks super delish.

    Michigan residents, like you, sure know how to make good fudge. We always get some Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island fudge when we go their on vacation.
