How to make it

  • Spray large skillet, liberally, with nonstick cooking spray. Over medium heat, saute onions, peppers, and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Add ground turkey breast, break apart, and cook until no longer pink, about 8 minutes, stirring frequently. Can add 1-2 T. water if needed, to prevent scorching - ground turkey breast is extremely low in natural fat, so it dries out quickly if cooked too fast at too high a temperature.
  • Add remaining ingredients, mix well to combine, and simmer over low-medium heat until thickened.
  • Serve on toasted rolls or buns of your choice. Can top with cheese, if desired, for extra flavor.
