How to make it

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
  • 2. In large pot of boiling salted water add the pasta to al dente
  • 3. While the pasta is cooking in another pot melt the butter and whick in the flour and mustard and keep stiring for about 5 minutes. Make sure there is no lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf and paprika. Simmer for about 10 minutes and remove the bay leaf.
  • 4. Temper in the egg and stir in 3/4 of the cheese season with the salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 1 quart casserole dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  • 5. Bake for 30 minutes.
