Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix

If you want an authentic Mexican food seasoning without having to rely on "those packets" in the grocery store, look no further. I love it when I don't have to pay for preservatives and other things I can't even pronounce. Read more .. This is great for ground beef, turkey or pork, shredded meats, or anything that requires a little "ole." Add some ground red pepper (cayenne) if you like it on the spicier side. See less
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt shopping list
- 2 tablespoons granulated garlic shopping list
- 2 tablespoons granulated onion shopping list
- 2 tablespoons Gebhardt's chili powder shopping list
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin shopping list
- 2 tablespoons ground oregano shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients in a medium ziploc bag - shake thoroughly to combine. Store in airtight container of your choice.
- Using Lawry's and Gebhardt's will make a huge difference in the taste of this mix. It's worth the initial investment, especially the Gebhardt's chili powder.
- Use "approximately" 1 tablespoon per pound of meat you are seasoning, or adjust to your tastes. Enjoy!
