Iced Raisin Biscuits

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 TBS sugar shopping list
- 3 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed shopping list
- 1/3 cup raisins shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 3 TBS maple syrup shopping list
- ICING: shopping list
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 1/8 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 2 1/4 tsp milk shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add raisins. In a small bowl, combine milk and syrup; stir into the crumb mixture just until moistened.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times. pat or roll out to 1/2" thickness; cut with a floured 2 1/2" biscuit cutter.
- Place biscuits 1" apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla and enough milk to achieve the desired consistency to drizzle over the warm biscuits.
