Panko Pork Patties
From gkwillow 13 years agoIngredients
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1 slice white bread, torn into small pieces shopping list
- 1/2 onion, chopped (or equal amount of onion powder) shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
- 1 pound ground pork shopping list
- panko crumbs shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Remove crust from bread and tear (using your hands) into small pieces. Mix in the beaten egg, onion, and salt & pepper.
- Crumble in the pork and blend; do not overmix.
- Form the pork mixture into patties of similar size.
- Press the patties in the panko crumbs until covered on all sides. (since the patties will be very moist, it may be easier to press the panko crumbs onto the patties!)
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, fry the patties until browned on both sides (patties need not be fully cooked; they'll finish cooking in the oven).
- Transfer the patties to a baking pan (lightly greased with non-stick spray) (If I only make 2 patties, I just put them side by side in a loaf pan) and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
