How to make it

  • Spray inside of slowcooker with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add apples, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Cook for 3-5 minutes until apples begin to release their juices.
  • Transfer apples to slowcooker and add rice, stirring to coat. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over mixture. Add apple juice and vanilla.
  • Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until all liquid is absorbed.
  • Serve warm.
