Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Prepare 9x13 cake pan with shortening or pan spray
  • Mix pudding with milk then stir in cake mix and beat 2 minutes, scraping bowl as needed.
  • Pour mixture into prepared pan
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the batter
  • Place pan in center of oven and bake 30- 35 minutes or until no longer wet. The toothpick test doesn't work with this cake and it won't look quite as done as a traditional cake. It will continue to cook a little more after it is removed from the oven so take it out when it still looks a little moist but not wet.
  • variations

  • Any flavor combination of Pudding/ Cake mix/ Chips can be used.
  • Try- butterscotch pudding, white cake mix and toffee chips
  • Banana cream pudding, banana or yellow cake mix and peanut butter chips
  • Coconut cream pudding mix, german chocolate cake mix and white chocolate chips and almonds.
  • Cheesecake pudding mix, strawberry cake mix and white chocolate chips.
  • Let me know your favorite combination!
  • This cake could also be frosted if you like, either when still warm for more of a glazed finish or wait until it cools and frost for a traditional finish.
