How to make it

  • In small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add rice, cardamom and cinnamon; stir to coat.
  • Stir in milk raisins and sugar; bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring often, until most of the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, about 25 minutes.
  • Stir in orange rind. Serve warm.

    I have been looking for this method of cooking rice pudding for a while now. Mom used to make it, without the spices, but also a bit sweeter and with the raisins. Most recipes require cooking the rice first and then cooking again with milk. Mom didn't. So, I'm glad to find this. Thank you!
