Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Sauce

- 1/2 stick butter shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup heavy cream(may need a couple T more, if a thinner sauce is desired) shopping list
- 1t vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter shopping list
- 1/2t fine crystal kosher or sea salt shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in heavy saucepan over low heat.
- Add sugar and stir to coat all granules with butter.
- Continue to heat for about 5 minutes or so, stirring often and not raising the burner temp, until mixture is smooth and thick.
- Add peanut butter and cream and continue to heat on low, stirring well, for about 7-10 minutes. Mixture should be smooth and of even color.
- Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt and stir to incorporate.
- Serve over apple slices or ice cream, or use as a fruit or sweet fondue dip.
