How to make it

  • Melt butter in heavy saucepan over low heat.
  • Add sugar and stir to coat all granules with butter.
  • Continue to heat for about 5 minutes or so, stirring often and not raising the burner temp, until mixture is smooth and thick.
  • Add peanut butter and cream and continue to heat on low, stirring well, for about 7-10 minutes. Mixture should be smooth and of even color.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt and stir to incorporate.
  • Serve over apple slices or ice cream, or use as a fruit or sweet fondue dip.
