How to make it

  • Beat the egg whites,salt and vanilla to soft peaks. Slowly add the sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Combine the nuts and crumbs, and fold into the stiff eggwhites, and spoon into the prepared pie plate.
  • Bake for 35 minutes. Cool well, completely. Top with sweetened whipped cream--I used "free cool whip". Refrigerate for a minimum 3 to 4 hours. Overnight is better.
  • Just before serving, augment the whipped cream/coolwhip as you see fit. garnish with either the curls or cocoa.

    This is a great post, I've had it before with cracker crumbs, and it's delish, but it really sounds good with the chocolate wafer crumbs...thanks! =)
