Cube Steaks With Mushroom And Onions

- 6-8 cube steaks (spencer steaks, restaurant steaks, what ever you like) shopping list
- 1 large onion sliced thin shopping list
- 1 (8 oz) pkg fresh sliced mushrooms shopping list
- 1 Pkg of dried soup mix (onion, mushroom, beef, etc - not chicken) shopping list
- 1/4 cup red wine shopping list
- 1 tbsp browning sauce (I used gravy Master) shopping list
- 1 tbsp steak sauce or Worchestire Sauce shopping list
- butter shopping list
- olive oil shopping list
How to make it
- Heat 3 tbsp butter with 2 tbsp olive oil in frying pan.
- Saute onions & mushrooms till tender, remove from pan,
- Dredge steak in flour mixture: 2 cups flour, salt & pepper to taste, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1 tsp thyme, 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- Mix dry soup mix, wine, and sauces in a 2 cup measuring glass, add enough water to measure 2 cups
- Fry steaks in frying pan on both sides till brown (do not overcook them)
- Remove from pan and continue till all steaks are browned
- Scrap pan for drippings
- Add soup mix to pan, bring to boil
- Add steaks and vegetables to pan and cook over medium heat to incorporate all flavors,
- If sauce is too thick, add a little water at a time, (Do not add too much to make sauce soupy)
- Serve over pasta, rice or fresh sliced bread
- Option: I added fresh peas to the pan also
