Kielbasa And Pierogies Recipe

Kielbasa And Pierogies Recipe
My kids loved this recipe, and its a good way to get them to eat cabbage. Delicious if you like kielbasa and also pierogies. Who would've thought to put them together.

Ingredients
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 head of green cabbage
  • 1 lb. of polish kielbasa
  • 1 lb box of mini pierogies
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. To prep for this meal you want to chop up your head of cabbage, slice the kielbasa into thin slices and also slice up the onion
  2. Get a pot of water on so that you can boil the pierogies
  3. Begin by browning the onion in a large frying pan with the stick of butter
  4. You should boil the pierogies while you have the onions browning
  5. after the onions start to soften you want to add the head of cabbage and saute it with the onions
  6. add the sliced kielbasa and steam for a few mins until the meat starts to brown and the cabbage has had a chance to cook
  7. After the kielbasa, onions and cabbage are just about done you want to add in the pierogies (and mix everything) and let them steam in the skillet for a few mins

This is how I got my kids to eat cabbage and now they are fanatics. I add sour cream on the side for the pierogis. This is comfort food at it's best!

This recipe looks like the stuff my Mom used to make. You have a 5 for this recipe. Thank you for sharing.....Cheryl
