Chocolate Covered Banana Pops

- 3 ripe large bananas shopping list
- 9 wooden popsicle sticks shopping list
- 2 cups (12 ounce package) Hershey's dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 2 tbs shortening (do not use butter, margarine, spread, or oil!) shopping list
- 1 & 1/2 cups coarsely chopped unsalted, roasted peanuts shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Peel bananas; cut each into thirds. Insert a wooden stick into each banana piece; place on wax paper-covered tray. Cover; freeze until firm.
- 2. Place chocolate chips and shortening in a medium-microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 & 1/2 - 2 minutes or until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth when stirred.
- 3. Remove bananas from freezer just before dipping. Dip each piece into warm chocolate, covering completely; allow excess to drip off. Immediately roll in peanuts. Cover; return to freezer. Serve frozen.
