How to make it

  • 1. Combine butter,creamsalt,sugar and sweet potatoes in 3 or 4 qt. sauce pan.Cover,cook over low,stirring occasionally until potatoes fall apart when pked with fork,35 to 40 mins.
  • 2.Off heat,mash potatoes with masher in sauce pan. Stir in pepper,serve immediately
  • For mashed sweet potatoes with ginger and brown sugar,rplace sugar with 1-1/2 TB light or dark brown sugar,add 2 tsp minced or grated fresh ginger along with potatoes when cooking in step 1.
