Chili Con Carne (pork)

- 250 g ground pork shopping list
- 1 medium potato, diced shopping list
- 1 medium carrot, diced shopping list
- 1 medium bell pepper (i prefer green to add color), diced shopping list
- 2 tablespoon cooking oil shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 small onion, diced shopping list
- 1 400g can of stewed tomato (I used one with celery and bell pepper flavoring) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup shopping list
- chili sauce (depends on how hot you want it to be) shopping list
- 3 tablespoons baked beans in tomato sauce shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Saute garlic and onion in one tbsp oil for about 30 seconds
- Add in the ground meat and season with salt and pepper. Stir until meat is cooked.
- Transfer the meat onto a different container.
- Saute the potato and carrots in one tbsp oil until nearly cooked. (I use non-stick pans to make this work)
- Return the meat and stir until well blended.
- Add in the stewed tomato and bell pepper. Simmer until the tomatoes have nearly disintegrated (about 1 hour)
- Reduce liquid to about half
- Add the ketchup and chili and mix well.
- Add the baked beans then serve hot.
