Fresh Orange Jelly

- 5 large oranges shopping list
- 100g sugar cubes shopping list
- 225ml water shopping list
- 2 teaspoons agar-agar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier, or Cointreu (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Wash and dry the oranges. Over a bowl, rub the sugar cubes over the skin to draw out the essence. Put sugar in a little saucepan with half of the water, stir till dissolved, the put aside.
- Cut oranges and squeeze the oranges to make 375ml orange juice, adding a little water if necessary. Add juice to the sugar syrup, and strain through a muslin bag or some fine silky material, into a large bowl and let strain for 30 minutes.
- Dissolve agar-agar in the remaining half of the water, and stir till completely dissolved, then stir into the mix bowl.
- Pour into a chilled metallic jelly dish, cover and chill for 8 hours, or overnight.
