How to make it

  • Cook on center rack in oven
  • Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
  • lightly grease or line with paper baking cups twelve cup muffin pan
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt
  • Add egg, and milk, mix until smooth.
  • Add bacon, bacon drippings, and onion mix.
  • Spoon batter into muffin tins (cups) filling each about 3/4 full.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes or until they just start to turn brown (check with tooth pick if not sure they are done
  • Server with mustard butter.

  • Mustard Butter:
  • In a small bowl mix together softened butter and mustard until smooth, refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
