Corn Chowder

- 6 slices of bacon, chopped shopping list
- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1 chicken bouillon cube shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 2 cups cubed potatoes shopping list
- 1 cup diced carrots shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 2 1/2 - 3 cups milk shopping list
- 2 cups cream corn (i use a can plus the rest in frozen corn) shopping list
How to make it
- Brown bacon in pan.
- Add onion part way through to soften onions.
- Put one cup of water along with a bouillon cube, bay leaf, potatoes, carrots and bacon and onion. Simmer all for 10-15 min until vegetables are tender.
- Make cream sauce with butter and flour.
- Add milk to desired thickness (I usually use 2 1/2 cups) .
- Allow to thicken, continually stirring.
- Add creamed corn and vegetables once tender (do not drain).
- Heat through, do not boil.
- Can serve with shredded cheese and buns!
