How to make it

  • preheat oven to 400 F
  • whisk together sour cream, egg, lemon and vanilla
  • peel, core and quater apples then thinly slice
  • add to sour crem mixture and mix well
  • spoon mixture into pie shell
  • bake pie for 30 mins @ 400 F- reduce to 350F and bake for 20 more mins
  • for crumble topping:
  • melt butter
  • stir together flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, walnuts, cinnamon and salt- mix in the melted butter
  • crumble mixture on top of pie and bake for 20 mins - or until apples are tender
  • let cool completely.
  • I add a caramel drizzle on top of the crumble when it's cooled
  • eat with vanilla ice cream!
