Ingredients

How to make it

  • No amounts given, just make as many as you feel.
  • Mom would steam the prunes to soften them. The boiling water had a cinnamon stick, 3 cloves and a lemon peel. She would use one of those fold up steamer contraptions and the prunes didn't touch the water, they just soaked up the steam.
  • Soak the steamed prunes in bourbon or liquor of choice for at least one hour. (She had a lemon peel in this booze too)
  • Fill each prune with one half of a marshmallow and a pecan half.
  • Kind of seal the edges back together and roll the whole thing in a lot of granulated sugar. Leave on wax papper until dry enough to handle. Wrap up separately in wax paper. Store in tins.
  • (Another holiday food gift idea)

As we kidded each other as children, we are just regular folk round here. I'm glad you'll try it. It is a grown-up treat and it is a nice little nibble after a big dinner.
