Thumb Print Cookies

- 2 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 3 cup margarine =6 sticks shopping list
- 2 tsp banilla shopping list
- 4 egg yolks shopping list
- 5 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- chopped or crushed pecans or walnuts 2cups shopping list
- 1 big jar of black or red raspberry jam or your favorite jelly or jam shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 375*. In large bowl, combine first 3 ingredients and egg yolk (reserve whites), blend well. Stir in flour and salt, blend well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Slightly beat egg white with a fork, dip balls in egg white, then roll in nuts. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet, press deep indentation in center of each cookie with thumb. Bake at 375 F for 8 to 10 min or until lightly browned. Immediately remove from cookie sheet, cool n fill centers with jam or jelly. I fill mine while hot, it helps the jams or jellies to stick to the cookie :o)
