How to make it

  • Mix 350 ml of water with 1 beef broth cube. Set aside.
  • Mix 100 ml of water with 2 Tsp of Cornstarch. Set Aside.(mixture A)
  • Prepare more 2Tsp of cornstarch with 6 Tsp of water. Set Aside.(mixture B)
  • Heat a Tbsp of sesame oil in pan. Saute the onion until soft.
  • Divide the onions into 2 parts. Put the first half in a mixing bowl and save the other half for later.
  • In the mixing bowl with onions, add the ground beef, breadcrumbs,grill seasoning, worcestershire sauce and the egg. Mix well by hand.
  • Form oval patties. Put sliced cheddar cheese in the middle of one patty then place another patty on top of it. Make sure to seal the edges so the cheese won't come out while frying .
  • Fry the patties in a pan until well-browned. About 3 mins per side. Then, Set Aside.
  • Pour off the excess oil from the pan and leave only about 2 Tbsp.
  • Add the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the remaining onions.
  • Pour the beef broth mixture and bring to boil.
  • Add the cornstarch mixture A then bring to gentle boil to thicken the sauce. (For a much thickier sauce, add the cornstarch mixture B).
  • Adjust the taste by adding more salt and pepper.
  • Return the patties to the pan and simmer for about 2 minutes.
  • Serve with rice.
