Apple & Pear Fritters

- for the apple fritters: shopping list
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and diced shopping list
- 1 medium ripe pear, peeled and diced shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
- 2 tablespoon butter, melted shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- oil, for frying shopping list
- powdered sugar to dust shopping list
- for the honey syrup: shopping list
- 1/3 cup honey shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 small cinnamon stick shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix together with a whisk to aerate.
- Combine melted butter, milk and eggs in a small bowl and beat together. Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and pears.
- Heat oil in a large skillet.
- For the honey syrup: combine honey, water, and cinnamon stick in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer on low until slightly reduced, about 5 to 10 minutes.
- To make the fritters, Drop batter by tablespoonfuls, a few at a time, into hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. . Serve drizzled with honey syrup and powdered sugar.
