Pioneer Corn Bread

- 2 cups stone ground yellow corn meal shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 egg beaten slightly shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1/4 c. oil or melted shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Combine first 4 ingredientsin a bowl.
- Mix well.
- Add buttermilk.,egg and oil or melted shortening.
- Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened-do not beat.
- Pour into well greased 8 inch baking pan dusted with cornmeal.
- Bake in hot oven 425 20 min. or until done and light golden brown.
- serve with butter, honey or syrup... enjoy
