How to make it

  • Cut cantaloupe or honeydew melon in half
  • Remove seeds
  • Cut each half into uniform wedges
  • Slice the fruit from each wedge to loosen the whole piece but keep it on the shell
  • Then cut the pieces into sections ( see photo )
  • Stick in a tooth pick ( frilly ones for a party ) into wedges if desired
  • Garnish with fresh chopped mint that has been mixed with a little granulated sugar ( ripe melons should be already very sweet )
  • Note: the toothpick can also spear fresh cubed pineapple, grapes,etc to the melon wedges
