- 3 cups plain flour shopping list
- 3 teaspoon fast active dry yeast shopping list
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup milk (for vegan simply substitute with almond or soya milk) (warm) shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder shopping list
- half a cup raisin shopping list
- 1/4 cup sultanas shopping list
- 1/4 cup fruit jam shopping list
- oil shopping list
How to make it
- place two cups of the flour in a large bowl
- add all the other dry ingredients
- slowly pour in the milk and mix to get a wet soft dough
- add the remaining 1 cup of flour
- grease your hands, dust a large working surface with flour and turn the dough
- knead the dough, adding more flour until you have a pliable smooth dough (6 minutes approximately)
- grease the same bowl and place the dough in it and cover. allow to rise for 30 minutes
- in the meantime grease a large baking tray and cover with foil or baking paper
- in another bowl, mix the jam with the dry fruits
- turn the dough which should have doubled in size on the working surface
- knead and using a rolling pin, flatten to get a rectangular shape (u can do it in two batches)
- once flatten enough, spread the jam and dry fruits mixture on the dough, avoiding the edges.
- slowly roll the dough in a tube (like a swiss roll)
- using a sharp knife, cut into 2 cm size rounds
- using the knife to help you transfer to the baking tray so as to prevent the jam mixture form falling out
- bake in a preheat oven for around 35-40 minutes, at 180 degrees celcius until golden brown
- remove from oven, allow to cool, dust with icing sugar
- enjoy
