Peach Cobbler

- 1/4 cup (55ml) butter shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons (30ml) shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup (110 ml) white sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 cup (225 ml) flour shopping list
- 3 teaspoons (15 ml) baking powder shopping list
- Pinch salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup (110 ml) milk shopping list
- 2 cups (450 ml) sliced peaches shopping list
- 3/4 cup (170 ml) brown sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter in a 9" square (21) cake pan. Cream together the shortening, sugar, and egg. Shift the dry ingredients and mix into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Mix the peaches, brown sugar, and cinnamon thoroughly until juice is blended with sugar. Spread evenly over butter in bottom of pan. Spread the batter over the fruit. Bake at 350 degrees F. (175 C) for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
