Clam Chowder

- 2 6 1/2 ounces cans minced clams with juice shopping list
- 2 tblsp butter shopping list
- 1 cup small dice yellow onion shopping list
- 1 slice of bacon, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 medium garlic clove shopping list
- 1/4 tsp thyme shopping list
- 3 tblsp flour shopping list
- 2 cups of bottled clam juice shopping list
- 1 lb potatoes shopping list
- 1/3 cup heavy cream shopping list
- pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Put the clams through strainer and put juice and clams aside.
- Melt butter in pan add onion and bacon and cook about 8 minutes
- add garlic, thyme and cook about 1 minute add flour and cook until raw flour taste is gone about 2 minutes
- Stirring add clam juice and bottled clam juice, bring to boil then reduce heat to medium add potatoes and simmer about 15 minutes. Stir in cream and clams season with salt and pepper
