Simple Chocolate Souffle
From meskarune 10 years agoIngredients
- 4 egg whites shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 6 tbsp butter or margarine (would recommend coconut oil) shopping list
- 4 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder (I like dutch process) shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom shopping list
- 2 tbsp flour shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat over to 350 degrees F
- Take a ramakin and coat the inside with butter, then sprinkle sugar over all the inside surfaces. This will help the souffle rise evenly.
- Put sugar, cocoa powder, butter, cardamom, flour and water into a sauce pan. Cook on low heat until it comes together and thickens a little.
- Whip the egg whites up with a beater until they reach stiff peaks.
- Slowly fold the cocoa mixture into the egg whites.
- Pour the souffle batter into the ramakin, and pull a knife across the top to flatten it. This will also help the souffle to rise evenly and not crack or break.
- Place the souffle into the oven and bake for 20 - 25 minutes.
