How to make it

  • Heat oven to 400 F.
  • Whisk together flaxseed and warm water. Set aside
  • Cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and honey
  • Beat in the dry ingredients, then add carrots, oats, raisins, dates and figs, mixing well.
  • Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto lined cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown.
