How to make it

  • Cream the cream cheese, shortening, butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add vanilla and beat at medium speed until well blended.
  • Beat in flour, cornstarch, milk powder, baking powder, salt and nutmeg at low speed until well blended.
  • Shape into a log and roll in sprinkles, then wrap tightly in plastic and freeze 1-2 hours, until very firm.
  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF and line baking sheets with parchment.
  • Slice dough into 1/8” pieces and place 2” apart on the sheets.
  • Bake 8-9 minutes, until set. Cool on the sheets for 10 minutes, then remove to a rack.
