- I took 1 coon ( 8 to 10 lbs.) and boiled it with a tsp. chopped parsley, 1 tsp. garlic power, 1tsp. onion powder, 1 tsp. paprika, 1 tsp. black pepper, one tsp. thyme leave, 1 tsp. meat tenderizer and 1 Tbsp.. of salt....I changed all the water except 2 cups left in the pot and cooked the coon another hour and a half. I then put it in the oven and cooked with bbq sauce mixed with 2 cups of the cooking stock from the pot the coon was cooked in with about a cup of tomato juice , 1 cup chopped onion, 1 cup chopped bell pepper , sprinkled with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, meat tenderizer and more thyme, covered the roasting pan and cooked another hour and a half on 250 degrees until served. shopping list
