Kilt Lettuce And Onions

- A bunch of leaf lettuce, about 6 cups or so (preferably from your garden) shopping list
- Green onions, about a cup or so (preferably from your garden) shopping list
- 5 or 6 slices of bacon cooked crisp. Reserve the grease. shopping list
- 4 to 6 Tbsp vinager, apple cider or white. Use what you've got. shopping list
- Salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Clean lettuce and onions well.
- Tear lettuce into bite size pieces and slice onions thin and place in large bowl.
- Add salt and vinager to bowl and toss well.
- Fry the bacon and set aside.
- Heat bacon grease until it just hits the smoking point.
- Pour hot bacon grease over the contents in the bowl while stirring, be careful as this will pop and hiss.
- Crumble reserved bacon over top
- Serve along side of pinto beans, corn bread, and fried potatoes with extra salt and vinegar to taste. Enjoy!
