How to make it

  • Clean lettuce and onions well.
  • Tear lettuce into bite size pieces and slice onions thin and place in large bowl.
  • Add salt and vinager to bowl and toss well.
  • Fry the bacon and set aside.
  • Heat bacon grease until it just hits the smoking point.
  • Pour hot bacon grease over the contents in the bowl while stirring, be careful as this will pop and hiss.
  • Crumble reserved bacon over top
  • Serve along side of pinto beans, corn bread, and fried potatoes with extra salt and vinegar to taste. Enjoy!
