Hi Jeef! Nice to meet you! I have more 100 different homemade spice blends from all over the world in my cupboard. I am not very particular about how I use them, but your question is a good one. I checked my cookbook for you, and there was no information. I did a web search and learned that kasba is a rice dish. About 15 years ago when I first learned that I am both dairy and gluten intolerant, I started learning to cook with spices to add more variety to my diet. Gluten-free food used to be difficult to find, and so many recipes are flavored with cheese. Anyway, of the 3 spice blends I posted, I know my husband was crazy for one of them. One of the unexpected advantages of having so many spice blends on hand was that I couldn't get my hubby out of the kitchen: he became really excited about cooking! Since these particular recipes are from a library book, I just want to have a copy of the recipes so I can make them all again and figure out which one it is that hubby really likes. I haven't made them in 15 years, although I have made dozens upon dozens of other spice blends. What I do know for sure is that it is NOT like Dukkah (love that stuff though). Have a good day! :)

Would be great to see some examples of where you'd use this. Is it a rub, or a variation on a dukkah?
