  • Who doesn’t love freshly baked bread? And don’t these look delicious! Warning though, this recipe will make like 40 rolls! Maybe you’re only cooking for 2 people though (like me on most days) and 40 is way too many! Don’t worry, you can halve the recipe and save the rest of the cake mix for the next time you decide to make these delicious rolls! Alternately, you could make 8-10 rolls, and then use the rest of the dough to form a loaf of bread for yourself….or a friend! I used the extra to make some for my mom this week and she was thrilled!! I always like to share the love a little! shopping list
  • Ingredients: shopping list
  • 1 box white cake mix (Duncan Hines- Moist Deluxe Classic White is preferred) shopping list
  • 2 pkgs Rapid Rise Dry Yeast shopping list
  • 1 tsp salt shopping list
  • 3 cups warm water shopping list
  • 6 cups bread flour shopping list
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted shopping list

How to make it

  • Directions:
  • Combine water and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast and cake mix and stir well. Add oil and flour. Mix well. Remove the dough and knead well. Grease the bowl (nonstick spray works fine) and return dough to greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let dough rise for an 60-90 minutes, or until the size has doubled.
  • Punch down the dough and divide into 3 parts. Knead each part for 2 minutes (you may need to add more flour if it is especially sticky). Roll out the dough and cut into circles (using a cookie cutter or the open end of a glass). Place circles into a greased pie pan, or my preference, on a pampered chef stone :) Let rise approximately 1 hour. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Brush freshly baked rolls with melted butter. Yum
