Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat over to 400 degrees (F)
  • Mix the 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon together and set aside.
  • Cream together 1 cup shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 beaten eggs.
  • Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt into the bowl with the shortening, sugar and eggs.
  • Mix together just until everything in incorporated.
  • Using your hands, roll the dough into balls about the size of small walnuts.
  • Roll the balls into the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • Place balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Do not press them down. They will flatten out as they bake.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cookies should be slightly golden at the edges. Remove to cool on wire racks.
  • Note: These can burn quickly. They may not look like they are done, but do not bake them for more than 10 minutes or they will burn on the bottom.
