Walnut Bread

- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 4 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 3/4 c. shortening (butter, margarine, or Crisco) shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. milk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 1. Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl.
- 2. Cut in shortening.
- 3. Stir in 1 1/4 c. of the walnuts.
- 4. Add egg, milk, and vanilla.
- 5. Mix just until ingredients are blended.
- 6. Pour into a greased and floured 9X5 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 c. walnuts over the top.
- 7. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes
- 8. Let rest in pan for 10 minutes and then turn out onto a rack to cool.
