Dairy Free Green Bean Casserole

- 1/2 cup of oil (I prefer Saffola) shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1 tbs. salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. pepper shopping list
- 1 tbs. granulated onion shopping list
- 1 tsp. granulated garlic shopping list
- 1 tbs. parsley shopping list
- 3 cups homemade almond milk or almond Breeze Original Unsweetened shopping list
- 1 cup Pacific Organic Mushroom broth shopping list
- 8 oz. white mushrooms, sliced shopping list
- 6 cans of Del Monte Green beans shopping list
- 1 can Trader Joes Gourmet Fried Onion Pieces or French's Fried Onions shopping list
How to make it
- Saute the sliced mushrooms in a small skillet with a teaspoon of oil. Put the rest of the oil in heavy sauce pan or large skillet. Mix flour into oil until smooth. Cook stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until sauce tans just slightly. Add almond milk a little at a time stirring to combine completely. When you first start adding almond milk it will look like mashed potatoes, that’s okay! Keep adding almond milk a little at a time until completely incorporated. Then do the same with mushroom broth. Mix in seasonings and taste. Add more seasonings if necessary. Add sauteed mushrooms into sauce. Drain green beans and put into 9 x 13 casserole dish. Mix mushroom sauce in to green beans. Sprinkle with friend onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes until sauce is bubbling and onions have browned.
