Cranberry Orange Loaf

- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup granulated white sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 and 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk, At this point you could add juice of 1/2 orange to the batter if you wish a stronger orange flavor. shopping list
- zest of one orange shopping list
- 1/2 cup cranberries shopping list
- Topping: shopping list
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar shopping list
- Juice of one orange. shopping list
How to make it
- Put the flower in a bowl, Cut the shortening in.
- And the rest except the topping and mix together. Fold in cranberries.
- Pour into a greased or sprayed loaf pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 325° for 1 hour. Or until top is brown and an inserted knife comes out clean.
- Mix the orange juice and sugar together and pour over the loaf when finished baking.
- Leave the loaf in the pan for 15 to 20 minutes then put on wire rack to finish cooling.

This is a very easy loaf to put together. The directions and baking time were excat and it came out of the pan nicely.
It's between dense and soft and it has a nice zing to it.
Will make it again.
