Rich And Flavoursome Vegan Dhal

- 2 litres water shopping list
- 6 cups dried red lentils (soak an hour before) shopping list
- 4 onions finely diced shopping list
- 1 tbsp cardamom pods shopping list
- 1 star anise shopping list
- 1 tsp sweet paprika shopping list
- 1 tsp turmeric shopping list
- 1 tsp garam masala shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cumin shopping list
- 1 tsp ground coriander shopping list
- 1 tsp mild curry powder shopping list
- 1 tsp veg stock powder shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Fry onions in some oil or ghee
- Add all the spices and herbs
- Cook for another 5 minutes
- Wash off the lentils
- Add to saucepan
- Add water
- Simmer very low until lentils are soft (15 – 30 min)
- Remove star anise and cardamom pods
- Serve with poppadums and plain greek soy yoghurt
