Sesame Noodles

- 1 lb lo mein noodles* shopping list
- 2 T sesame oil shopping list
- 3½ T soy sauce shopping list
- 1 T peanut butter shopping list
- 1 T sugar shopping list
- 1-in. piece of ginger shopping list
- 1 clove of garlic shopping list
- 1 t sambal oelek shopping list
- 1 t sesame seeds shopping list
- ¼ c peanuts (unsalted) shopping list
- 4 green onions shopping list
- lime shopping list
How to make it
- 1 Chop or crush the peanuts. In a dry pan, roast the peanuts and sesame seeds over high heat until just beginning to darken, about 3-5 min. Remove from the heat and set aside.
- 2 Boil the noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse and set aside.
- 3 Whisk together the oil, soy sauce, sugar, peanut butter, chile paste and the juice of the lime. Peel the ginger and the garlic, then finely grate both into the sauce.
- 4 Finely chop the onions and toss with the noodles and sauce until well coated.
- Garnish with the roasted nuts
- *If Chinese lo mein noodles are unavailable, substitute dried spaghetti.
