Ingredients

How to make it

  • preheat over to 375 degrees
  • • Beat together buttermilk, butter, egg and vanilla then add to the dry ingredients. Mix until dough binds together. Do not use food processor. With floured hands, form dough into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pat dough into 1/2 inch circle and cut rounds out or cut triangles out of them for a more traditional look. Bake at 375 for 16-18 min, until golden brown.
  • GLAZE
  • Add the powdered sugar, zest, juice, and salt to a medium mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. Glaze will keep for 2 days in the fridge.
  • After scones have cooled dip the top half of the scones in the glaze and let dry on a rack. The glaze will be clear.
  • *The scones may seem under cooked when they first come out of the oven, they will continue to cook as they cool down.
