How to make it

  • 1. Cook pasta according to package. Drain and rinse.
  • 2. In large saucepan melt butter. Add onion or leeks and garlic. Cover and cook about 5 min. or till onions are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • 3. Stir in flour, thyme, and pepper.
  • 4. Pre-heat the oven to 350° F. (175° C).
  • 5. Add half and half or milk and the chicken broth all at once.
  • 6. Cook and stir till thick and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
  • 7. Stir in pasta, ham, and spinach.
  • 8. Spoon mixture into a 3 quart casserole.
  • 9. Cover and bake 30-35 min. or until heated through. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir gently before serving.
