Ingredients

How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400F/200C.
  • 2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • 3. In a large bowl cut together the cream cheese and butter using pastry cutter. This will take a little muscle. Mix until it's mostly mixed. It will be very sticky.
  • 4. Add sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Continue cutting together until evenly combined. Mix in chocolate chips. Mixture will be crumbly.
  • 5. In a small bowl best egg, 1/4 c milk, and vanilla.
  • 6. Pour milk mixture into cream cheese/flour mixture. Using wooden spoon or hands mix together (I used hands, sticky but worked very well).
  • 7. Lightly dust clean counter with flour and turn dough out onto counter. Kneed just until dough comes together. (I skipped step altogether and kneaded dough with hands into a ball in the bowl)
  • 8. Form dough into a round disk, about 1 inch thick. If desired press mini chocolate chips into dough. Brush with milk.
  • 9. Using pizza cutter or knife cut into 10 wedges.
  • 10. Bake 17-20 minutes until lightly browned and tops are set.
  • 11. Recut wedges while warm to reinforce sections will separate.
  • 12. If desired make glaze by whisking together milk and powdered sugar. Drizzle on top.
