Banana Cranberry Bread

- 2 1/2 cups white sugar shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 3 mashed bananas shopping list
- 1 cup cranberry sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, and mix in bananas, cranberry sauce, milk, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gradually blend flour mixture into the banana mixture.
- Fold in walnuts.
- Pour into the prepared loaf pans.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack, and cool completely.
- Add a little sour cream for a deliciously different banana bread.
