How to make it

  • Place rice in a colander and rinse. for 1 minute.
  • In a large pan set over medium high heat, add olive oil.
  • When oil is hot, add rice and saute with onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  • When onion is tender, and garlic is translucent, , add cumin, bullion, chili powder, black pepper, tomatoes, tomato sauce and chicken broth.
  • Bring mixture to a simmer, cover and reduce heat to low.
  • Stir occasionally, until rice is cooked throughout about 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot.
