How to make it
- Bake the sweet potatoes as if making baked sweet potatoes.
- If you are a microwave person, microwave them for7 to 10 minutes, until soft through.
- I love the skin left on, however, if you do not like the skin it will come off very easily at this point.
- Place the sweet potatoes into a bowl and sort of cut them up.
- Place a good amount of butter, depending on your taste, into the sweet potatoes.
- Add any seasonings you want added at this point also. This will depend on your taste and what you are serving them with, or maybe even just the time of year. Be creative!
- I use a hand masher, as I like lumps, and mash the baked sweet potatoes until they are to your favorite consistency.
- If you do not like lumpy, you may use an electric mixer for fluffier mashed sweet potatoes.
- When the butter is melted and the sweet potatoes are as mashed as you like them add the milk and mash a little more.
- Serve warm or cold, they are great both ways!
